It was created by Leslie Knope in the Parks and Recreation episode "Galantine's Day". In the season two episode 16 of the show Leslie wanted to create a day where she could celebrate her female friends. Why? Because she felt that women were often left out of traditional holidays like Valentine's Day. Galantine's Day is now celebrated all over the world on February 13th. And while that date may be one of the worst for a one-night stand, it could be the BEST to celebrate with your besties. So, single and ready to mingle... with your gal pals?!
